Compassionate support worker with a child during a family transition — Bridge Care at Peaceful Kids Club

Bridge Care

Stable Care for Children in Unstable Moments

Bridge Care is short-term, trauma-informed childcare for children experiencing homelessness, court involvement, kinship transitions, or family crisis — providing a calm, consistent anchor while families find their footing.

What Bridge Care Is

Bridge Care is intentional, short-term childcare designed to serve children during periods of acute family instability. It is not a permanent placement — it is a bridge. We provide safe, regulated, trauma-informed care while families navigate the systems, paperwork, and transitions that stand between crisis and stability.

Who Bridge Care Serves

  • Children experiencing homelessness or shelter placement
  • Families involved in court proceedings or child welfare systems
  • Children in kinship care or foster placement transitions
  • Families fleeing domestic violence
  • Children in temporary or transitional housing situations
  • Families navigating medical crises or hospitalization

Trauma-Informed Onboarding

We understand that arriving in crisis is disorienting. Our onboarding process is gentle, unhurried, and designed to build trust from the first interaction. We meet children and families where they are — not where we wish they were.

  • Warm, low-pressure intake process
  • Bilingual support in English and Spanish
  • Child-led transition into the environment
  • Family communication and coordination from day one

Predictable Routines

For children in crisis, predictability is safety. Our Bridge Care program runs on consistent daily rhythms — the same faces, the same spaces, the same sequences — so children can begin to regulate and trust, even in the middle of chaos.

Safety & Regulation

Every staff member in our Bridge Care program is trained in trauma-informed co-regulation. We do not use punitive discipline. We do not escalate. We meet dysregulation with calm, consistency, and connection.

Support for Caregivers Navigating Systems

Bridge Care isn't just for children — it's for the caregivers trying to hold everything together. We connect families with resources, warm-hand off to permanent care providers, and help navigate the eligibility and enrollment process for long-term solutions.

  • Child Care Works subsidy navigation
  • Head Start and Early Head Start coordination
  • McKinney-Vento school program support
  • Warm handoffs to licensed community childcare

How Referrals Work

We accept referrals from social workers, case managers, shelters, courts, healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations — as well as self-referrals from caregivers in crisis.

  • Emergency & Transitional Shelters
  • Domestic Violence Programs
  • County Human Services
  • Family Court & CASA Partners
  • Healthcare Providers
  • Schools & McKinney-Vento Liaisons
