Preschool Program

Our preschool program blends school-readiness learning with social-emotional development in a calm, trauma-informed setting. Children build confidence, curiosity, and connection through structured play, creative exploration, and consistent, caring relationships with staff.

Daily Rhythm

Structure That Builds Confidence

Preschool-age children thrive when they know what to expect. Our daily rhythm balances structured learning with free play, creative exploration, and outdoor time — all within a calm, predictable sequence that helps children feel safe enough to learn.

Morning circle time: greetings, calendar, and feelings check-in
Literacy and numeracy activities in small groups
Creative arts, music, and movement
Outdoor play and gross motor exploration
Quiet rest and afternoon enrichment
Sensory-Friendly Environment

A Classroom Built for Regulation

Our preschool classrooms are designed to support children who may be experiencing sensory sensitivities or dysregulation. Calm colors, flexible seating, and designated quiet zones allow children to self-regulate throughout the day.

Flexible seating: floor cushions, wobble stools, and quiet corners
Low-stimulation reading and rest areas
Sensory bins, sand tables, and tactile exploration stations
Natural light and calming color palettes throughout
Co-Regulation Practices

Teaching Children to Name and Navigate Feelings

Preschoolers are just beginning to develop emotional vocabulary and self-regulation skills. Our staff use evidence-based co-regulation strategies — including emotion coaching, calm-down corners, and visual feelings charts — to help children identify and manage big emotions.

Rather than punishing dysregulation, we treat it as a learning opportunity — guiding children toward calm with patience, consistency, and warmth.

Staff Training

Educators Trained in Trauma-Informed Practice

Our preschool educators complete ongoing training in trauma-informed teaching, social-emotional learning, and culturally responsive practice.

Trauma-informed classroom management and de-escalation
Social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum implementation
Culturally responsive teaching and family engagement
Mandated reporter training and child protection protocols
How Caregiver Protection Benefits Your Child

Stable Caregivers Raise Confident Children

Children entering preschool are acutely aware of their caregiver's emotional state. When caregivers are overwhelmed or unsupported, children often act out, withdraw, or struggle to engage — not because of behavior problems, but because they are mirroring the stress around them.

Our caregiver support programs — coaching, community groups, and resource navigation — help caregivers show up with the calm, consistency, and presence their preschooler needs to thrive.

Calm caregivers help children feel safe to explore

Consistent routines at home reinforce school learning

Caregiver coaching builds long-term family resilience
